The major advantage of ring binders rests in the fact that they are truly endless. As soon as you run out of space on the inserted sheets of paper, simply buy replacement inserts (sometimes also called spare sets of paper). A single ring binder is enough for notes from lots of subjects, meetings, or negotiations. As time goes by, you just make your notes, and then they can be easily sorted by topics into individual notepads or folders.
Replacement inserts into ring binders are offered with lined (8 or 5 mm), squared (5 × 5 mm), or blank paper. Each insert contains 100 sheets of wood-free or recycled paper with four holes (or two holes in the case of smaller formats) for inserting into a standardized ring mechanism. They are available in the A4, A5, A7+ formats and in two sizes of roughly A6 format.
